Invest in a sturdy cup holder for your car.ĭon’t be afraid to drop an order. There are apps that will do that(Everlance is one). I did about 6k miles on my car in a matter of 2-3 months. That 2$ just went to 1$/a mile because you have to drive back to civilization. You also need to keep in mind the drive back, so say the pay is 10$ for 5 miles but the 5 miles is a straight line out of town where you wouldn’t get anymore orders. Set a base limit for yourself, such as only accepting orders that are 2$/per mile. I think my anxiety over Instacart has come down enough now for me to try again but this time with smaller orders and not during a time when Door Dash is really busy Plus I took The Instacart order at a time when Door Dash was super busy with a lot of good tips. It’s really stressed me out so bad I haven’t done Instacart order since. I was so stressed and had a headache by the time I was done checking out and on top of all that I had to then carry all that stuff up a hill with a lot of steps to leave it on the porch. I had to go all the way back through almost every isle I had already been on just to do all that. It took almost 2 hours and stressed me the hell out because I didn’t know what I was doing and I didn’t scan things as I put them in the buggy Or take pictures and stuff if I can’t find the items. I accepted the first order by mistake and it was a huge order for on $20. ~ Can any experienced/ successful Dashers give me any advice on the best tips/tricks/ hacks to make the most money in the shortest amount of time and/or distance, so that I don’t run my car into the ground barely getting paid? Thank you for any and all help. ![]() I really need this job to work because so far it is the only job that I can find that will allow me to start and stop working throughout the day as needed so that I can get to my kids in case of an emergency, doctors appointments, etc. I’ve only dashed 12 orders so far but with the small base pay and small tips I’m starting to worry it the pay isn’t going to cover all the expense to be an independent delivery driver such as the increased car insurance, mechanic costs or tires replacement costs to fix any issues that arrive from wear and tear, the mileage, the gas, etc. I was hoping that with Door Dashes flexibility, that it might finally be the answer to my prayers but I’m starting to realize that it might not be the answers to my prayers financially. I needed a job that will allow me to to stop and rush to them if needed. Here’s a little Back Story to my situation: Im a single, divorced mom of two children- one on the Autism Spectrum w/ADHD and the other w/severe Depression and ADD.
